Indeed — just substitute “The Internet” for “a newspaper,” and “billion” for “million.”
I found myself rereading some of Crane’s poems this afternoon and his work feels so amazingly contemporary. I don’t know whether that’s a sign of how ahead of his time he was, or of how little things have changed since his time…
I think you’re being unnecessarily pessimistic about the Internet. Crane would have loved LOLCats.
